SOCCER SPEED AND AGILITY DRILLS WITH CONES

Easy to set up and rewarding when applied in training, soccer speed and agility drills with cones require no equipment other than cones to mark the running grid,

Players need to work hard but emphasis needs to be on correct technique and body movement as they run forward, backwards and sideways.

SOCCER AGILITY DRILL SET UP

  • Place two cones 20 m/yd apart.
  • Place two more cones 20 m/yd apart crossing each other in the middle.

AGILITY FOR SOCCER - INSTRUCTIONS

  • Start this soccer drill by running forward from start to the middle of the grid.
  • Once at the middle, side step towards the cone on the left, around it, and back to the center.
  • Once at the middle sprint to the top cone, around it and back pedal back to the center.
  • Side step to the opposite cone, around it, and side step back to the center.
  • Finish the drill with a back pedal to the finish.
  • It may sound complicated, but if you look at the picture you will understand it better, as it is very simple and easy to do in practice.
  • Repeat 3 - 4 times.

Players can also add a soccer ball when running this soccer drill.
