Soccer Training Drills and Skills - Session #9
Boys in training are different ages (9 - 14). Various soccer training drills and skills are used to focus on ball control, technique, agility, speed, fitness, coordination and hard work ethic in training to create positive habits in the game.
Soccer Knows No Age!
Below you will find images and different soccer drills timestamped if you would like to skip through the video and see different soccer drills I used in this particular soccer training session.
I hope you find some value from this training session.
Starting the soccer training session with juggling and touches on the soccer ball.
The beginning of the session is used to get 100's of touches with the soccer ball focusing on technique and touches on the ball rather than speed.
Boys are constantly encouraged to move with the ball and concentrate on the touches.
⚽️ JUGGLING AND BALL CONTROL
Soccer training drills and skills to have fun and award players for working hard in the previous drill. Every young soccer player is excited and loves the simple shooting exercises.
We focus on doing 4 soccer drills times 4 repetitions starting with airball control and shooting.
⚽️ HAVING FUN WITH DIFFERENT WAYS TO CONTROL THE SOCCER BALL AND SHOOTING ON ME.
Shuttle runs are frowned upon by all players because they are TOUGH, however, they are a great way to become faster, stronger and more fit.
Boys do 8 reps total with 4 backpedaling shuttle runs and 4 explosive running soccer drills.
⚽️ SHUTTLE RUNS AND DRIBBLING THE SOCCER BALL
Adding cones with lots of space in between them to reward players with simple dribbling and shooting soccer drills followed by dribbling the soccer ball around the grid using explosive speed on the long side, and slowing down across.
Give and go pass is a great way to get behind the defenders in the game so boys do it in our training session as well.
⚽️ ADDING MORE SOCCER DRIBBLING DRILLS AND MOVEMENT WITH THE BALL TO FINISH
Core strength is very important for every athlete. I always encourage players to get into the habit of doing planks and pushups every night or morning.
⚽️ FINISHING UP TRAINING WITH CORE SOCCER DRILLS
Every player loves to play the game, so every soccer training session finishes with a game.
⚽️ FUN TIME GAME TIME
