Soccer training is healthy and rewarding for kids in too many ways to list. Training allows children to improve different soccer skills and build their confidence in the game, while exercising their motor skills and creative thinking.
Players who are hungry to keep improving should play and train with the soccer ball every day towards 10,000 hour mark.
Kicking the soccer ball off the wall, with a friend, or simply juggling the ball in the backyard are some of the simplest ways to improve soccer skills in the game while having fun with the soccer ball.
I plan my coaching sessions ahead of my training session and write down my session plan on paper outlining 4 stages of training and some quick sketches.
Boys always START the training session with emphasis on touches and different timed soccer drills with the soccer ball.
After 20 - 30 minutes of total touches with the soccer ball they will move on to various running soccer drills with and without the ball.
This adds different body movements towards improving young players agility, speed, footwork and coordination.
Another soccer ball dribbling drill with shooting at the end. This agility pole setup allows for various different types of touches on the ball like gates, roll across, toe taps etc...
Final stage is winding down the soccer training session with core work, planks and pushups.
Open game follows 20-30 minutes depend on how the boys behave in training. Mention cutting into game time and everyone is their best behavior.
This is a complete soccer training session with my Lill Soccer Maniaks.
My soccer training sessions are always planned focusing on developing young soccer players touches, ball control, conditioning, footwork, agility, speed, coordination and overal soccer skills.
Players range from 7 to 13 years old.
Hope you enjoy the video.
